Fall Bulk Collection Begins October 5

Fall bulk collection runs Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9, 2026. Public Works crews will pick up bulk items on your regular trash day during the first full week of October, as they do every month. For the fall cleanup, the limit doubles from 4 cubic yards to 8 cubic yards per household, and brush is accepted with bulk items.

Wednesday, October 7, is reserved for commercial routes and catch-up. Not sure of your quadrant? Check the Trash & Recycling page. A subdivision takes the quadrant of its entrance.

How to set out bulk items

  • Put items at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your bulk day, and no earlier than 7:00 a.m. two days before.
  • Keep piles at least 5 feet from mailboxes, fences, parked cars and fire hydrants. Do not place anything on your water meter box.
  • Keep brush in a separate pile. Cut limbs to 4 feet or shorter and tie them in bundles of 50 pounds or less.
  • Refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners need a tag showing the refrigerant was removed by a certified technician.
  • Roll and tie carpet in sections no longer than 4 feet.

A recliner counts as one item whether or not it reclines.

Not accepted

Tires, paint, batteries, motor oil, chemicals, propane tanks, auto parts, dirt, rock, concrete and debris from work done by a contractor. Bring household chemicals, paint, batteries and up to four tires to Household Hazardous Waste & Shred Day on Saturday, November 14, at the Public Works Service Center.

The Brisket County burn ban remains in effect. Please do not burn brush. Set it out for collection instead.

“Last October our crews picked up 186 tons in five days,” said Public Works Director Darrell Whitten. “Keep brush separate, keep it off the meter box, and have it out by 7:00 a.m., and we’ll get to every street on time.”

If your bulk items are missed, call Public Works by noon on the next business day. Staff will give you a service request number so you can track the pickup.
