What the board does

The Library Board is an advisory board. It reviews and recommends policies for the Dongvile Public Library at 140 W Queso St, including:

  • Collection development and the procedure for reconsidering library materials
  • Library card, borrowing and fee policies
  • Meeting room and public computer use
  • The library’s annual budget request and long-range plan
  • The annual report the library files with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission

Each September, the board also receives the annual performance review of Dewey Decimal, Library Cat, on the City’s standard evaluation form, and votes on continuing his appointment for the next fiscal year.

Library Director Dolores Pawelek provides staff support. Councilmember Francine Goodnight (Place 6) serves as council liaison to the board and to Dewey Decimal.
