Meets: Third Thursday of January, April, July and October, 5:30 p.m., Terminal Building, Dongvile Municipal Airport
Membership: 5 members
Terms: Two-year staggered terms, appointed by City Council
Staff liaison: Ron Hooten, Airport Manager

What the board does

The Airport Advisory Board reviews airport matters and makes recommendations to City Council. It does not set policy or spend money on its own. The board:

Reviews hangar and ground lease requests and the hangar waiting list
Recommends the self-serve fuel pricing policy
Reviews the airport’s capital improvement requests before the City submits them to the TxDOT Aviation Division
Hears comments from pilots, tenants and neighbors
Recommends, each spring, which of the airport’s two windsocks is primary

Councilmember Hector Ybarra (Place 3) serves as council liaison. Airport Manager Ron Hooten provides staff support and is on site most weekdays.

Current vacancy

Seat 4 is open for the remainder of a term ending September 2028. This seat is reserved for a member who holds a current pilot certificate or owns an aircraft based at Dongvile Municipal Airport. Applications received by November 13, 2026, will be considered for the mid-term appointment.

You must live in the city limits or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Pick up an application form from the City Secretary at City Hall, 150 E Brisket St, or call (936) 555-0110 to have one mailed to you. Return it in person or by mail to P.O. Box 1887, Dongvile, TX 76969.

City Council makes regular appointments each September. Applications stay on file for one year.
