Run or walk off Thanksgiving dinner in advance on the Queso Creek Park trail. Proceeds benefit the Brisket County Food Pantry.

Start Thanksgiving morning on the Queso Creek Park hike-and-bike trail. The 5K is an out-and-back course along the creek. The 1-mile fun run is open to all ages, and walkers are welcome in both. The course was measured twice with a calibrated wheel.

Registration

Register in person at the Parks & Recreation office in City Hall through Tuesday, November 24, or on race day at the trailhead starting at 7:00 a.m. Bring two canned goods for the Brisket County Food Pantry and take $5 off your entry. All proceeds go to the pantry.

Awards

Medals go to the top three overall men and women in the 5K, and a whole pie goes to the first finisher in each age group: 12 and under, 13–18, 19–39, 40–59 and 60 and over.

On the course

Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome. Please start at the back of the pack.

The trail passes the duck area between the 1-mile and 1.5-mile marks. Runners should yield to ducks. The ducks will not yield to runners.

City offices are closed Thursday and Friday, November 26–27, for Thanksgiving. Check the Trash & Recycling page for holiday collection changes.
